What taxes will apply to my order?
Orders shipped from Ohio to out-of-state purchasers will not be taxed. For orders shipped inside Ohio there will be a 7.0% sales tax. Finalization of appropriate taxing and shipping will be given on order confirmation.
What types of payments do you accept?
We accept Credit Cards, Checks and Money Orders!
Please note: any returned checks for any reason (insufficient funds, etc.), will incur a minimum of $25 in additional charges plus any legal fees.
How can I buy a mattress?
You can shop at one of our online dealers. Or you can go to a brick and mortar store and try the mattress out first! Go to our Buy Our Products page for a list of stores and websites that carry our products.
You can also visit our Outlet Store which will opening on June 1st, 2005.
It is located at 109 N. Main Street in Fredericktown, Ohio. The store is open Friday 10-7, Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 1-6 or by appointment.
Our Outlet Store will carry some of our mattresses and North Star Beds' latex mattresses; some of our Amish made furniture including organic sofas and chairs as well as our sheets, pillows and shower curtains. These will be "seconds": items that are imperfect, stained or slightly damaged.

How long does it take make a mattress?
Normally we have several sizes in stock. Our most popular mattress is the organic cotton/organic wool standard mattress. Should you desire anything different, we have a turnaround time of 3-4 weeks, but we try and get it out sooner! Our sheets and pillows are in stock and ship in 2-3 days!
Where is your stuff made?
All of our products are made by family run and operated workshops in our local Ohio community. If you are in the area call us and we will happily take you on a tour of our community "factory". You can even watch your mattress being made! We ask that if you do come to our facility that you respect and honor the Amish way of life and refrain from taking photos or videos. Call us for more information and to set up a date.
Are you all organic?
Yes, we are. All of our products are made with 100% organic ingredients (except the bias tape, but we can substitute organic binding tape upon request).
Do you use any Fire Retardant Chemicals in your mattresses?
No! Wool serves that function in our mattresses because wool naturally discourages burning. Our Vegan mattress is the exception - it doesn't have wool or any chemicals and therefore requires a Doctor's prescription.
What is your 5-year plan?
In the heart of the Ohio valley we have fertile soil that is aching to be cared for by people who want to take care of our planet. We hope to have a learning center where people can stay the night, eat fresh organic food, and learn a little more about the Amish and the world of organic self-sustaining agriculture.
In 7 years we will hope to offer affordable stewardship farms where young families who have a desire to work and live naturally can support their family by producing organic products for the US and the world.
Yes, all of this seems amazing, but this is our goal and our quest. Just like Don Quixote, organic is our windmill....
